General Rules
The first category of rules for ✦Talus ✦ are the general rules. These are rules intended to protect players and generate an environment conducive to roleplay. ✦Talus ✦ hopes to foster a welcoming and diverse community of RPers. Because of this, we expect all players to treat each other with the same respect you’d hope for yourself. This goes for the most senior members of the community to the newest players on sim, respect yourself and the others on sim, even if you don’t always agree with them. ✦Talus ✦ strives to be a positive and welcoming community for all players, and between all groups. In the spirit of good RP Jedi, Sith, and all other players are encouraged to pursue friendships with one another.
1. Roleplay Areas
- In roleplay areas you must wear an OOC tag of some kind if you are not in character.
- If your avatar cannot reasonably get to a location, you are not allowed to travel there. Sit hacking and other access violations will not be tolerated.
- Apartments are considered private, DO NOT ENTER them without an invite IC or OOC from the owner of the apartment.
- Animated mesh pets are not allowed due to the lag that they create. Some exceptions may be made for one's that aren't using that many animations (i.e. the Prowler Droid) and because it's SW's the Gizka, however you may not attach more than ONE.
2. Chat
- Group chat is not the place to discuss issues. If you need help, you may request a GM on the group chat, but it is not a forum for discussing problems. The GM boards in the OOC hub are encouraged for getting in touch with a GM if needed.
- Racism and all the other ism's. Group chat is not the place for these.
- Flamebaiting and brigading are also not allowed in the group chat. If you have a problem with a person, a group, a GM, or an admin, the group chat is not the place for airing those.
- We try to limit real life political and religious discussion. If a topic is becoming heated the mods will ask it be dropped, failure to do so can lead to administrative action.
- Advertising other sims or products for other sims is not allowed without first seeking permission from an Admin.
3. Harassment and Trolling
The ✦Talus ✦ staff takes an extremely dim view of harassment in any form. Group bashing, character bashing, and player bashing will all be handled per the enforcement guidelines. If you have a problem with the way something is being portrayed or played, attempt to be constructive. Help improve it, rather than bashing it. This goes for players and for groups. If a new player is having trouble, offer to help them. Doing so regularly may lead to you being suggested for a Mentor or other staff position.
- Harassment is defined as repeated, continued attempts to contact a player after having been blocked or told to leave them alone. Evidence of harassment can include logs of a person continuing to attempt contact after being told to stop, or logs of a person’s alt which is attempting to contact after having been blocked on another account.
- Trolling is defined as making a deliberately offensive or provocative action, with the intention of eliciting an angry response from a player.
- Chat listeners: Using a Chat Listener or “Chat Spy” goes against the nature of the community we are trying to foster. If found, the listener or spy will be returned and the player will be handled according to the enforcement guidelines.
- Titles & Names: Insulting, racist, or trolling parodies of names or titles also go against the nature of the community here on ✦Talus ✦. If a player uses a name or title that is perceived to be harassing, they will be asked to remove or change it. Failure to do so will lead to a ban until the name/title has been changed. Repeated offenses will be handled according to the enforcement guidelines. Name change spam will also not be tolerated.
4. Griefing
- Griefing of any kind is not permitted on ✦Talus ✦. Minor griefing is any action that disrupts an IC scene, but when stopped the scene can continue. Major griefing is any action that disrupts an IC scene, and would require resetting objects, players, or the sim in order to continue. (See rule 4: "Assault" and rule 6: "Disturbing the peace" of the Community Standards. http://secondlife.com/corporate/cs.php). If a currently banned player uses another account to grief, their ban will also be extended.
- CopyBot: Using any objects that appears to be copybotted, enable you to copybot, or prim copy are not allowed on Fourth Dimension, refusing to remove these objects will result in a permanent ban, and you may be reported to LL.
5. Staff Enforcement
- Enforcement of rules is up to ✦Talus ✦ Staff, and not its players. While we appreciate players taking an interest in the RP health of the sim, it is not up to them what constitutes rules or infractions. If they believe a rule has been violated, they need to bring it up to a staff member. Trying to enforce the rules on someone without the proper authority to do so constitutes harassment.
