*There is static as the broadcast tries to make connection* "It’s bee... ...conne... at? ...Y’got it? We rolling? K. "Lilli Paige here! The sounds of gunfire has picked up over the night but it doesn’t sound as close as it was. If- if you’re able to get a view of the sky over Little Star, up… up there. *pause* "There ...appears to be some dog fighting taking place up there! Outside the barrier! See it! There! There’s shots bouncing off the barrier! *pause* "Are you getting this? *pause* "For anyone who can’t see, it looks like there’s things getting through weakened points in the barrier! It could be supplies! Look! That one’s a pod! Is there a rescue op- Jojo look! On the building! Do you see that?! It- is it a force-field? *pause* "Jojo, we have to get closer! C’mon!” *the transmission cuts off again* The group below was able to get a message out from the landing market. The large dark figure on the right was able to navigate the barrier with some careful piloting and brought supplies planet-side. The rest helped carry and defend the packages from attacking droids, all putting their lives at risk to help those stranded in what the people have taken to calling the 'static zone', due to most signals being reduced to static once inside.
*A poorly filmed holonet video is posted via courier to the GNN. There is no video save a single still image.* "This is Lilli Paige reporting for GNN on the planet Talus. I'm not sure you can see this behind me but the city is being overrun by droids. Get a shot of that over there... *pause* "The normally peaceful droid workforce appears to have taken up arms and turned on organics in the city. We still have no information as to what caused the attack, however this reporter has learned that the droids are not taking prisoners. Before we could set up this broadcast we witnessed several unarmed civilians disintegrated in the streets as they fled. *pause* "Get away from the window Jojo... *pause* "We’ve witnessed sporadic fighting however it appears that most the survivors have fortified the local market. Food has been rationed though with the planet's energy shield in place no freighters have been able to land and supplies promise to run thin soon. Questions remain about the motivations of the droids and who, if anyone is responsible *the sound of a crash and breaking glass, followed by several blaster rounds being fired in rapid succession.* "No! Out the back, go!" *the transmission cuts off* Below is an image of a group held up in an alley and some more battle trained folks that later helped a group from the market reach it. OOC: Thank you to everyone who stopped by! And Thank you to our DJ, KanoReign (farthest right) who was AMAZING even though his equipment decided to not let his mic work at the last minute! Unfortunately, I didn't think to grab a pic before everyone had stopped dancing or at the event's peak. Got distracted answering questions, catching up with friends and talking to everyone. Sorry! ^^;
It seems the couple who purchased the waterfront bar has completed their renovations and opened its oddly thick door for business. The building is now fitted with private rooms upstairs, while the main floor has been set up for dancing and a peculiar drink special reportedly shipped straight from Zeltros. White Lotus Liquor by Zane, a drink where anything higher than the white label comes with a caution tag. I don’t know about anyone else, but I know I’m intrigued!
It seems that the new government is as punctual as they said they would be as their building was completed within the hour predicted. For those who don’t know, when the government changed leadership, they began this construction, promising that they were building a safe haven for their new form of government. What goes on behind the walls, we were unable to find out. However with the recent reduction in crime, this reporter is thankful for their hard work and seemingly endless supply of forces.
What seemed to be a random act of violence, caused by what was reported to be a simple repair droid, 3 lie dead tonight while others appear only shaken. Witnesses do not recall anything that could have caused this terrible malfunction but are growing uneasy as rumors spread that it may be connected to whomever is behind the strange anomalies popping up in several local droids as of late.
The owner of the droid has yet to be found and the names of the deceased are being withheld as the next of kin had yet to be notified. A nice Zabrak and what we understood to be his wife, bought the Waterfront Bar as well as the rest of the building. We asked if they knew when they'd be ready to reopen for business and he seemed either distracted or unwilling to reply.
"We wanna get the place back up an runnin soon as possible but we got lotsa renovatin t'do. Not gonna jus be a bar any more, we want somethin a little more fun~" chimed the woman. I guess we'll just have to wait and see. |
